Every day's a good day for the movies

Yesterday my sister Chandra was off work for Memorial Day, so she and I went to the movies. We were planning on seeing a double feature, but the first movie we wanted to see, Something Borrowed, was canceled for some reason. I was quite disappointed because I really wanted to see it, but at least we were still able to see the other movie that we'd planned on (Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides).
This movie is the fourth installment in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, and I enjoyed it. It definitely wasn't as good as the first movie, so don't go to the movies expecting it to top or surpass the first one, but know that you will be entertained.

I think Johnny Depp does such a good job playing "Captian Jack Sparrow." He's so funny!

At the cemetery

On Sunday afternoon we stopped by the cemetery so that my nieces and nephews could see their Grandpa's grave and so that Dad would be remembered during our reunion. I love the cemetery where my dad is buried because it's so beautiful and peaceful. My nieces and nephews always have so much fun walking around and looking at the different headstones. Who would think a graveyard is so exciting?!

Here are a few pictures from the cemetery. They really don't do justice to how pretty the cemetery is, but I like to take pictures of this sort of thing because I think they will be really important to my nieces and nephews in years to come.

__I especially love this picture of my nephew Matthew sitting on my dad's grave. I think he looks so adorable and sweet!
This is a picture of my sister Miriam's four girls in the Easter outfits that she sewed for them. I especially loved the orange outfit.

Barbecue at Suson Park

On Friday my family and I went to the park to grill hot dogs and bratwursts for lunch. It was a cool day, but it was sunny, so it was very pleasant in the sun. The kids were so excited and couldn't wait to finish with our family pictures so that we could leave for the park and have our picnic.

After lunch the kids went to go play on the playground. It was great to see them having so much fun!

We went to see the animals after playing on the playground. Little kids are so funny when they're around animals, and they ask the funniest questions.

Backyard ball

Last Thursday was abnormally cool and cloudy for late May, but my nieces really wanted to play baseball, so they didn't seem to mind the chilly conditions. (Several of my nieces have recently gotten baseball gloves, so they were eager to try them out with their Uncle Brett and cousins.)

I enjoyed watching the action from inside, although it would've been a blast to actually be able to join in on the fun. It's hard when there are so many things I'd like to do, but can't. At least I  was able to cheer everyone else on, though!
