I can't remember when I first heard about Facebook, but it was probably around 2005. I never thought that Facebook would be something that I would ever sign up for, but I've learned to "never say never" and I signed up for Facebook in July of 2008. I'm glad that I did because it's been a fun way to keep track of people that I wouldn't normally keep in touch with. (Like people from high school, nursing school, work, church, etc.) It's nice to be able to know what is going on in their lives without actually having to put forth the effort of e-mailing/calling them, because I know I wouldn't!
All this being said, I was astounded when my mom asked me to help her sign up for Facebook several weeks ago. I honestly thought she was out of her mind, because Facebook and my mom don't really seem to go in the same sentence! However, she decided that since Facebook is not only here to stay, but seems to be "the way of the future" in a lot of ways, she wanted to sign up and learn how to use Facebook. I'm glad I could help educate her in the ways of Facebook since she wanted to learn.
I wonder what other things are going to become "the way of the future" in the next few years. Things that might seem obscure at first, but then seem like a "must" after not too long. Only time will tell!

Glad you helped her sign up -- it is good to see her there! :)
