Master Planner

I'm so glad that I know God! I'm glad I know that I'm His child and that He has a plan for me. How do people who don't know God/believe in God make it through life?! The thought of trying to muddle through life with all of it's challenges without knowing there's a God is a sad and depressing thought.

People have tunnel vision and are kind of like horses with blinders on. We aren't capable of seeing the whole picture right now, so it's easy to get discouraged wondering why things are the way they are, but looking at things with an eternal perspective will really illuminate your path. 

Just because we can't find reason in a particular situation right now doesn't mean there isn't a higher purpose for the things we experience. Have faith and trust in God!

God is always there, whether we realize it or not. He never leaves us alone, even if we feel like we are.

I love this quote from C.S. Lewis: 

A common question people often ask after "bad things" happen to them is, "How could a loving God allow something so terrible to happen to me?" What they fail to realize is that the purpose of life is to become a better, stronger, kinder person...more like God. The best way to come to that end is through experiencing pain, as tough as it often is. Our challenges have the potential to shape us into better people if  we allow it. It's hard and takes work, but it's possible!

I'm not sure that this is true in every single situation because I can think of a lot of "unexpected things" that wouldn't necessarily make me happier than originally planned. That being said, I do think there's potential for unexpected things happening that end up being pretty amazing in the long run, even if they seemed unfortunate at first. I know this was true of my accident, because it's made me into an even better person than I already was.

The bottom line is that our challenges refine us into better people and that God has a plan for all of us. He's always there for us every step of the way.
