I am long overdue for a blog post, so I thought I would make a post about Mother's Day. We had such a relaxing day, and it was wonderful. The weather was a little too hot for my liking, since it was humid and in the 90's, but that's okay. At least it wasn't raining.
We went to church in the morning, and had a great service. Later on, our bishop taught a special lesson about women, and there was a nice spread of fruits, vegetables, cheese/crackers, muffins, cookies, bagels, chocolates and things like that for the women to enjoy while we listened to his lesson.
My sister, Chandra, and her family came over for dinner. My mom made lasagna and a lemon mascarpone cream pie for dessert. Everything was really yummy! Chandra and I gave our mom two hanging flower baskets for the front porch.
Here are a few pictures:
My mom and two of her 26 grandkids:
We had a hard time getting a good picture of Chandra's family. It's difficult with wiggly children, as well as glasses that you are trying to avoid capturing a glare in.
Chandra and her cuties matched in denim and pink:I tried to coordinate with my mom, who was wearing a new dress:
My older sisters are all really good moms, and I hope I would be as good at being a mom as they are if I had children of my own. Sometimes I see the parenting struggles that my sisters and friends have, and I wonder if I could do it and have my kids turn out okay. Being a mom is hard! I sure hope I could do it. Chandra has been in the mom business for fewer than three years, but she's a great mom, too. I'm so proud of how well she has taken to motherhood! Christian and Ruby are lucky to have her 💗💗💗
Y’all all look so pretty and happy! Yes moms have it rough, most don’t see it til they survive it. I am sure you would be a good mom like your mom. She is blessed to have 26 grandkids
