A few days ago I finished listening to an interesting book; The Year of Living Biblically (One man's humble quest to follow the Bible as literally as possible). This book is written by A.J. Jacobs and it's his memoir of the year that he spent trying to live the ultimate biblical life by adhering to all of the rules in the Bible.
For one year Jacobs tried to follow all of the rules in the Bible. The major ones, like following the Ten Commandments, and the more obscure ones like not shaving your beard, not wearing clothes made of mixed fibers and not lying on a bed or sitting in a chair where a menstruating woman had been.
Jacobs is Jewish, but he said that he's Jewish in the way that The Olive Garden is an Italian restaurant. I thought it was interesting that he was have the desire to try this experiment since he classifies himself as an agnostic that's not very religious.
Jacobs is a writer and the editor at large of Esquire magazine. He's also written other books including My Life as an Experiment, Drop Dead Healthy and The Know-It-All. In Drop Dead Healthy, Jacobs spends a year making over his body in attempts to be the healthiest person in the world. The Know-It-All is about the year Jacobs spent reading the entire Encyclopaedia Britannica from A to Z. I haven't read any of these books, but the latter two sound especially interesting, so I might give them a try when I'm looking for a new book.
This book was really interesting and I found it very enjoyable. It wasn't the best book I've ever read, but I'd definitely recommend it as an interesting read.

I read that book a couple of years ago, and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very interesting to read about the modern families who try and follow some of the more obscure rules in the Bible.
